all good things must come to an end

classes start on monday so i'm pretty much on my last week of vacation. well, i had a pretty good 6 weeks of R&R and i can't complain because i know most people in the working world can't even get 3 weeks paid vacation.

i will miss waking up late and tagging along with stan to work. i hope he'll miss the company too since it can be pretty lonely at the top. aside from his meetings, business phone calls and dispatches to his office lackeys, he doesn't really talk to anyone else. and i guess it's been good for me seeing him work because i have an understanding of what goes on in his typical day and i won't be too much in a hissy fit next time i ask him out to lunch and he says that he can't.

i'll also miss having all day to paint and draw and dream up things to sketch. afternoon naps, spur of the moment coffee dates, and endless internet surfing will also be missed.

then again, i have been missing my kids the whole summer. i miss their hugs and kisses and our conversations about anything and nothing at all. i'm quite excited about teaching elem art. it won't be easy adjusting to every grade level but i guess i'll manage.
