my new dog maple

ive been absent from the blogging world due to a new addition to our home. a 6 month old chocolate labrador, i've decided to name Maple. she's a bundle of energy that can knock over lampshades and make holes in your favorite pair of havaianas. she has that perpetual wet dog smell because she loves splashing around in puddles and there are a lot of them these days. she's a tall order to potty train because she's not easy to throw outside of the house when she starts to pee. she nips at me when she gets excited and loves jumping up at me when i've just showered and put on a new pair of jeans.

but then again, she's such a happy dog with smiling eyes and finds any excuse to cuddle. she's perfectly content to lay at my feet after dinner and keep me company till i'm sleepy. she'll do anything for a hug. she's even learned "down" without treats.. just hugs. she knows how to play fetch. she tries hard to make friends with my grumpy older dogs. she doesn't ever touch the hamster cage. she doesn't bark at night. she doesn't growl. she doesn't hold grudges. she doesn't beg at the table or grabs food. she loves me and i love her.
