and after all that brouhaha, i'm back to where i started. in sunny ol' cebu. i've been home for three weeks now and bombarded by all the work i've had to catch up on. i just finished parent-teacher conference week and finally done with making all those report cards. midterms are in a week and i have about a million and one reports due to my professor.. none of which i've actually done at this point.
i've put on the mandatory 5 pounds or more christmas holiday weight... maybe more since i was fed like i was a starving Ethiopian back there in vancouver. speaking of which, the trip was great. this was the most time i've spent with stan and his family. i guess i'm pretty happy that i got to know them pretty well. they're nice people although i think i still need some pointers on "becoming chinese" which they weren't shy about helping me with. his family is pretty chinese and i'm very NOT chinese.
some highlights:
- shared toothbrush with stan. he forgot his in vegas and automatically reached for mine to use.
- loved his sisters dog, indigo. she's a huge rottwieler that thinks she's a lapdog.
- went snowboarding, mainly on my ass. but it was fun.
- actually got homesick at one point.
- lost my wallet!! =( i'm still hoping some good hearted Canadian who finds it mails it back to me.
- Canada has some really good sashimi places
- i've mastered the art of reading laundry instruction tags.
- survived a 12 hour flight going home all alone. consolation prize was i got bumped up to business class.
- stan shops like a girl!!
now, i'm going through the motions till i graduate my Education course in march. summer is in a couple more months so that's something else to look forward to.
