updates

school started this week. my looooooong vacation is finally over. good and bad. i'll miss the waking up at 10:00 and sleeping at 3:00 AM or whenever i want, getting to go out on weekdays, being able to be all philosophical about everything and afford to be maudlin and let my thoughts meander wherever they please. on the other hand, i welcome the company of the kids, not having to ask myself "what will i do today?", not having the time to get bored and angsty and call up stan 50 million times.

school also started at a new school. i now teach at CLC. still a pretty small school with all the cutest kids. for the meantime, i'm assisting 3rd grade till they get my schedule in order. my boss hasn't come back yet and i'm going to be her assistant in art class and preschool. the class is fine but a big change from my cute and cuddley 5 year olds from last year. the boys in the class though seem to be more "suave"

first line of the week from an 8 year old: "over here! i'm the lighthouse and you're the ship."

plus they like to stare which can be kinda uncomfortable sometimes.


got a new macbook today! after 2 years of waiting... finally!!!

a post long overdue...

stans grandma is such a character. since stans parents left for canada, she's been here house-sitting, or perhaps babysitting stan. i've gotten quite accustomed to her presence and her quirks. she loves wearing clothes that scream color wacky nail polish. the one that topped my list was her sporting orange and white frenchtips. she has bewelled eyeglasses in the oddest of shapes. one was a pink cat eyed one with what looked like rubies all over the frame. "ama", chinese for grandma, also loves watching game shows and shouting out the prices as they unfold. that one of kris aquino's seems to get her the most and before you know it, she's waving her arms around shouting at the contestants to pick the prize she wants to win. she also likes cooking alot and has served up a wide array of chinese cuisine. some are good and some just need you to be polite and swallow. whenever she sees me, she always offers me something to eat which is pretty sweet of her. i'm quite fond of her and i guess she's warming up to me too.
