stans mom is quite an early bird when it comes to christmas decorations. today i "came home" to a house filled to the brim with dancing snowmen, christmas stockings, trimmings and sparkling lights. and each year, she has a detailed description of each of her decors with a matching story of where she got it and where it was made etc etc etc. and each year, i listen with much amusement as she animatedly decribes how she conceptualized and put together her christmas shebang.
this year felt a little more special because she remembered to bring out the christmas decors i hand carried all the way from canada because her son thought i could take better care of them on the way back. at least now i have a christmas story in their house too.
so his mom and i sat around the tree and she made the snowman dance and sing a few times for our afternoon entertainment. of course stan rolled his eyes over and over again while we giggled with delight. christmas is so near i can almost smell the christmas cookies that are coming.
