i've just realized that this whole blog is all about me wanting to get married for the past couple of years. 90% of it is about stan and my heart aches, triumphs, silly moments and everything in between that had lead me to this very point of lying down on our bed, formerly known as his bed, in his jammies (well, they're mine now), flipping channels, waiting for him to come home.

we've been married 3 months and 4 days now and i guess i've never taken the time to sit down and marinate in my thoughts of being married. well, so far it's been wonderful. the first few weeks of continually sleeping in the same bed was the most difficult adjustment for two people who've had their own rooms ever since. i miss my sisters, my mom and my dogs. my dogs most especially when i'm sick and on house arrest like today. i see my mom at least once a week and i've developed a new friendship with her ever since i've gotten married. i miss my sisters and how you're never really alone with them around. there's always someone to talk to, literally next door. i miss our late nights scrounging around for midnight snacks. i even miss our fights! it's a different life - being married. from just having to take care of yourself, you're suddenly responsible for this one other person. i'm his person to call in case of emergency, cook, stuff on the floor picker upper, grocery shopper, button sewer, maid trainer, medicine buyer, back rubber.... the list goes on and on.

speaking from a woman's standpoint. you have to let go of so much, your home, independence, last name included.

and yes we fight! there's more stuff to fight about when you're married. life changing things, stupid silly things that even more than half a decade of dating didn't reveal. my advice: just fight fair and you'll be alright.

but it's all worth it. :)

i love the fact that after a night out, we go home to the same house. although my personal dreams are seemingly slipping away (becoming a famous makeup artist extraordinaire), i can make space for new ones like a house and two bright and charming kids. stan's so not the romantic type but once in a while, he does something that absolutely sweeps me off my feet. sometimes they're grand gestures, sometimes they're as simple as saying no to his friends because he'd rather hang out with his wife.

all in all, i'd highly recommend it - getting married to that one person who's worth pining away for, who's hurt you but in the end made up for it, who gets you and all your imperfections, the person you can eat a meal in complete silence with and not feel ignored, the person your heart beats for, flutters at the sound of his laughter and feels safe in his arms.
