during lunch break, my co-teacher cyrus handed me a book to borrow called "Personality Plus: How to understand others by understanding yourself". basically, it divides all of humanity into four core personality profiles. the Popular Sanguine, the Powerful Choleric, the Perfect Melancholy and the Peaceful Phlegmatic. the book also included a personality profile test which i gamely answered.
turns out i'm quite the full-fledged Peaceful Phlegmatic combined with a teensy weensy bit of Popular Sanguine.
what that says about me: i have...
the stability to stay on course.
the patience to put up with provokers.
the ability to listen to what others have to say.
the gift of mediation, uniting opposing forces.
the purpose of peace at almost any price.
the compassion to comfort those hurting.
the determination to keep my head, whille all around are losing theirs.
the will to live in such a way that even my enemies can't say anything bad about me.
of course there's bad stuff too which has no poetic way of spelling it out:
i can be quite boring.
i resist change.
i procrastinate.
i lack self motivation.
i have a quiet will of iron.
i can be indecisive.
i was quite taken at how this tiny yellow paperback book explained me so precisely. of course, i asked to borrow it overnight and make stan take the test. i have a feeling he's a peaceful phleg too with a mix of perfect melancholy. we shall see...
on other things:
i am almost done with my mural in school. i was commissioned by judy to have the grades 5, 6 & 7 paint a mural at the back of the school wall to keep people from vandalizing it. i have to say this has to be one of the things i've done that i'm proud of. it is not by any means easy to coordinate 20 kids of varying artistic talents and temperaments, 12 gallons of paint, 24 paintbrushes to make an 8x20 foot wall look at the very least pretty. i have to say, i'm also very proud of the kids for being such troopers under the hot mid-day sun and not giving me such a hard time. i'm so excited to see it done!
pick me up of the day:
i nonchalantly asked stan if he would be in town for valentines day. i was half expecting an "i don't know" from him. but much to my surprise he quickly turned to me, lightly pinched my cheek and with the cutest expression of enthusiasm i've seen on his face said "of course i'll be here!"
i have to say. he does have his moments.
