perfect balance

after 2 days of following stan around the house to take the personality test, he finally did. i had already given up on making him take it and just left the book on the coffee table as a sign of surrender. and just when i was starting to forget about it, he picked it up and asked for a pencil.

turns out he's also a Peaceful Phlegmatic with just about the same mix of Powerful Choleric as i do Popular Sanguine. according to the book, we balance each other out perfectly. we have common phlegmatic traits but the rest of us is made up of something entirely different. sanguines are fun loving people who love to socialize while cholerics are more of the serious and disciplined type who would rather work than have fun. sanguines thrive on the highs and lows of emotions while cholerics turn queasy whenever a situation calls for emotion of any sort. sanguines talk while cholerics think.

i have to say, the book did explain alot of things to me and made me see him in another light. i feel better knowing that when he wants his space and alone time once in a while, it's not because he doesn't want to be with me but it's just an emotional need that needs to be met. it's as valid a need as when i want to be doted upon and made the center of his universe every one in a while too. it also made me appreciate how much he's given of himself by hanging out with me every single day when cholerics would much rather be alone than be with people, much less in an intimate setting. each time he played footsie with me seems a little more special and every kiss and hug a little more heart warming.

when i think about it, we've slowly brought out good things in each other. i've become more serious and rational and according to people who know stan, he's loosened up a bit.

well, reassurance, no matter where it's from, is always comforting. i guess i've always known in my heart that we're good together, long before i had to have a book spell it out for me. but it's nice to sort of know that for sure.
